Today is always a day of thought and reflection. September 11. I was in NY in 2001. It was the scariest and saddest day that I know. Too many people lost. I still have a hard time looking at the towers and the pictures that are always posted. I still can't watch the movies that came out about 9/11. I just feel overwhelming sadness. Today, I am just keeping in mind those we lost, those we found, and all those who were affected. Love....
It has been a long time since I last visited.(sorry friends, i have missed you all!!) Shame. Anyway, things have been very busy. I have been doing a ton of home work.School is taking up a lot of my time. Work has also been sucking my soul out. It amazes me how my office comes up with mixed answers. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It seems that they do what they want to fit what they want. It is not about what is right for the customer. Anyhow, I am applying to schools as a teacher's assistant. It will be a big pay cut, but it gets me in the door. This is especially important since I am going to school for teaching. I am also looking into changing to Special Education with a certificate in Elementary Education. I am excited to be in the classroom. Wish me luck!
Other than that, Alex is too cute. He is laughing and smiling now. I wish I could spend time with him, but life just doesnt work that way. I have to rely on pictures and videos. It makes me sad, but, the time I do get to spend with him makes me treasure it all the more. I cant believe how quickly he is growing.
Other than that, I finished my first knitting project. I am so proud of it. My next one will be started soon. A girl from work wants me to make her a scarf. I told her I would try but no guarantee since I am not really good at it. She said that was fine. If not, I will work on my first afghan.
Well off to bed and more homework for tomorrow. Hugs and love.
Dear Mom,
Since I know you read this blog: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! sorry I cant be there to celebrate with you.I hope you have a wonderful day. Everyone, wish my mom a happy birthday!!
Love

So, I started summer classes this week. Oh the fun. My psych class is interesting, if not scary. It is a class on child psychology. So far, I read how as a woman gets older, there is more risk of genetic and other problems for pregnancy. Regardless, it is interesting. I am also taking gym online (yes I said online). I get to head back to the gym tomorrow. Which is a good thing.
As for Spring semester, I did well. Really well. I got a 3.8 for the semester landing me on deans list! Who says you can't go to school full time and work full time and still do well. Also, I got my acceptance to Watson Education School.
No, my life is not all about school (and crappy work, but I refuse to include that in my life). I went to see Star Treck (ok, it was pretty good....dont tell Denny I said that). Yes, Mom, you need to see that move, you will like it (and I know you are reading this). We also saw Angels and Demons. I still do not like Tom Hanks in the lead role, but that is ok. I am dealing with it (at least he had a haircut). Overall, the movie was pretty good. Better than the first, I think anyway.
In addition to movies, I have been doing some reading. Finished up some Elizabeth Peters (Vicky Bliss novels), some Undead and... oh and the new Charlene Harris (read it if you like True Blood on HBO).
The dogs are being the same, some days good, some days bad. Though, when I'm having a bad day, all I need is for Katie to curl up in my lap and Crystal to give me a big kiss. OOPS, gotta go! They wanna play fetch!
So, things are winding down at school. Only a few weeks left....and then summer classes (blech). But, I gotta do it. Oh well. Things have been busy with me doing paper after paper and taking tests. Grades are good though. Work is still work. Got a new sup. Got a new team. So far, so good. (But I still want out).
The puppies are ok. They are still bad (especially Katie, some days, I dont know how I handle having her as a puppy...and then she puts her head on my lap and gives me that look, and I'm done).
Denny is also good. He is still playing video games. I still hate that we hardly see each other unless he works nights, which doesnt always happen. I just keep in mind that this is just a little longer and I will be back on a normal schedule.
Other than that, I have managed to read a few books while at school, Corraline by Neil Gaiman, Plum Spooky by Janet Evonavich. I also saw some movies like Monsters vs. Aliens, Corraline, and I think there is another but I cant remember. I'm lucky I know my name some days!
Well that is all the exciting going on in my world. Hope all is well with everyone else.
So, its been, like FOREVER since I wrote. Sorry. Been totally busy with school. So, as the title implies I went on a cruise with Den and our friends Zo and Christina. So, this post will be all about our FAB cruise. (ok, sorry for the bad 80's terms...but what do you want? I'm an 80's kid)
So, we left Wilmywood as the buttcrack of dawn on March 9. I was so tired I fell asleep on the floor in Charlotte airport (yes, gross...everyone told me that) We finally made it to FL and waited for Zo and Christina. Denny found us a ride to our new home for the week, Royal Caribean's Majesty of the Seas. We sign in, hit our room to change into our baithingsuits and off to the pool we go for a party on deck.
From the pool, we went to muster station to learn how to wear a life vest incase we sink....all I knew was that someone better get me into a lifeboat if we were going down. Screw going down with the ship! Leaving Miami was a cool vision as well.
Also on the first day, Denny climbed the rock wall. Super mega cool. He reached the top and everything!! Dinner the first night was also nice. Our table mates, Ryan and Katie were cool. The only downfall was that my super cool/ugly shirt was seethrough when a picture was taken in it....oops
The second day, we made port at Bahamas. Sadly I lost the pictures of me and Christina playing with dolphins. Still really really mad about that (thanks alot Miami xray!) It was the highlight of my trip. I loved it. I got to hug, kiss, dance and play with a really cool dolphin. They boys spent their day riding a POS scooter. Denny's battery cover fell off and Zo's just died. While there, I got some awesome earing. (super pretty)...Day 3 was Coco Cay. Just a day to relax and catch some sunburn. Oh, and get our hair braided (girls at least). I also won playing BINGO...totally cool for me! They boys did well at the casino as well.
I also took a chance on the rockwall. Yes, nails and all, I climbed a rockwall. Mega proud of me. I made it to the top and rang the bell. Dinner was also amusing. Our waitors all sung to us. They were the best of all of them. Godfried and Bjorn (i'm sure I messed up his name...oops...sorry). G kept flashing gang signs and B made some interesting dance moves. This was 2 nights in a row. It was too funny. What is worse, we just kept encourging them. hahah...Our last day was in Key West. I did not do so hot. We were supposed to Snuba. Sadly, I was sick the whole way out, back and yes in the water (no, no puke came out of me. Denny and Zo did. Zo even brought a baracoota to us. Really creepy fish. We made it back, walked around, and just chilled. Denny got some yummy Key Lime Pie. The next day was the day we were off the ship. Sadly, another vacation over. one last thing...what cruise is complete unless there are towel animals.
On Friday, my father picked us up for the weekend at their place. We had a babyshower for my brother and his girl, played with the dog and hung with the rents. I also got to see my best friend in the whole wide world, Cas....YAY
Well, finals week is almost over here. I have one more final, history. It shouldn't be too bad. I can at least bring my notes from the semester. I also looked at book prices for next semester and almost passed out....over 500.00 for books...REALLY??!! Next week I have the Praxis I to take...keep your fingers crossed...
On a positive not, Denny and I are planning a cruise for March when I have spring break. He already booked it and I am totally excited. Now I really have to hit the gym so I'm ready for this thing! Bahamas here we come!
Since my tree has been up, my dogs have been taking ornaments off it and eating them....however, they have also been giving them to me when I ask...well, hate to cut this short...but I still want to study before the test....
